Mary Berner isn't kidding around with Cookie. Fairchild Publications' CEO reassigned Jane publisher (and longtime lieutenant) Eva Dillon to the fledgling luxury parenting title on Thursday, a win-win for all involved. While Cookie's editor, Pilar Guzman, is new to the top job, Dillon is an old hand and well-liked by advertisers. She needed a change of scenery, though. Jane's ad pages declined seven percent in 2004, and her peers were beginning to wonder if Berner would ever have the stomach to push her out if Jane slipped into freefall.
