Dow Jones employees who had the bejeezus scared out of them this morning by Jim Cramer's 2006 predictions in the latest issue of New York magazine (Murdoch will buy the company, fire all the staff, and hand the paper over to the crew running the New York Post.) had their days saved by the late-morning announcement that CEO Peter Kann and Wall Street Journal publisher Karen Elliott House—who also happen to be husband-and-wife—are retiring more or less immediately. Kann will stay on a year as chairman, but Dow Jones COO Rich Zannino is taking over ...
