Atoosa Outgrows Seventeen
November 7, 2006The shocker of the day is that Seventeen editor Atoosa Rubenstein is leaving the magazine to strike out on her own with books (a two-part memoir is apparently up first), maybe movies, and definitely a teen consulting firm. Her decision must have stunned Hearst Magazines president Cathleen Black, who gave Rubenstein the greenlight to launch CosmoGirl in her mid-20s and who was depending on the latter to not let Seventeen go the way of the late, not-so-great, unlamented YM.
