The digital future of magazines takes one step closer to arriving: Time Inc. executive vice president John Squiresleaves with the blessing of the company to head up an alliance among large magazine publishers aimed at hurling the medium into the future. Condé Nast and Hearst are expected to join Squires' effort. The head honcho, who will have a six-month contract, stopped running the business side of Time Inc.'s news division in June to focus on the digital future of magazinedom...
