Yahoo loses a big player as chief product officer Blake Irving resigns. The move comes as a result of CEO Scott Thompson's decision to chop Irving's division through hundreds of layoffs. Irving was a key hire during the Carol Bartz days. Thompson clearly has other ideas about where he wants to take Yahoo, although the true nature of those plans are anyone's guess... Matt Lauer re-signs with the Today show, ending our long national nightmare. "Matt is the franchise, and our franchise player has decided to keep leading our team," Steve Capus, president of NBC News, said in an interview with The New York Times...
