There's trouble at CNET. Media correspondent Greg Sandoval resigns in the wake of a scandal involving Dish Network's Hopper device. "I no longer have confidence that CBS is committed to editorial independence," he wrote in a tweet. Top executives at CBS, possibly even CEO Les Moonves, refused to let the Dish service that helps viewers skip commercials win its "Best in Show" award at CES. Sandoval took issue with the choice of CNET editors to capitulate to the demands, saying they were "honest but used poor judgement." Some people are wondering how this will affect the rest of the CNET staff, citing the growing rift between the tech site and the CBS overlords. Hopefully, it's a one-time issue and we all come out better for it, but who knows? Could Sandoval be the first of many defections?...
