Seventy-five or so (ex-)Gruner + Jahr employees can look forward to an extra-long 4th of July weekend. They were the first batch to receive their pink slips from their new owner, Meredith, but they won't be the last. Another 75 have already been warned that they'll only be sticking around for six more months. The most meaningful departures were the editor and publisher of Family Circle, G+J's fading cash cow.
