Proving that he's never launched a magazine he couldn't close less than a year later, Hachette's CEO announced in an email sent to the company yesterday (sent via his chief flack, b.t.w.) that his experiment in importing lowest-common-denominator magazines from France had failed: Shock was being shut down.
