February 2, 2007 Jim Kaminsky has apparently learned a thing or two about managing up since his brief time at Playboy. Kaminsky, you may recall, was plucked from the number 2 spot at Maxim to lead Playboy into the 21st century as the magazine's first new editorial director in 30 years. But, he was sent packing only a year after taking over, largely because of his failure to appease the not-so-nominal editor-in-chief, Hugh Hefner.
