April 17, 2007 Condé Nast Portfolio is finally here, which means there are actual contents to discuss instead of that masthead. That said, it turns out we missed at least one hire: Eileen Daspin, a senior writer -- yet another Wall Street Journal alum -- who was last seen washing out as executive editor of Elle Decor. But that's that. Now that the first issue is out, Portfolio can move to the next phase of its existence, in which burned out staffers begin leaving...
John Owens is now the editorial czar for seemingly every Hachette magazine that doesn't have "Elle" in the title....
