Warner Music Boss Fires Back At Steve Jobs

WarnerLogo.jpg
Warner music boss Edgar Bronfman Jr. fired back at Apple's Steve Jobs today, saying all intellectual property deserves some form of protection from piracy. Rather than abolish "digital rights management" altogether, Apple should open up its iTunes Service so that it can work with a variety of DRM formats, and not favor Apple's iPod.

In a speech at the 3GSM Trade Show in Barcelona, he noted how difficult it can be to download new music to cell phones. But he didn't address one of Jobs' key points: since CDs are currently sold without any DRM protection, they can be imported and uploaded at will for use on any device. Therefore, why should buying music tracks online be any different?
