Yet again, the power of social media proves its weight.
Here’s why: Patrick Snay won an $80,000 age discrimination settlement against his employer, Gulliver Preparatory School, in Florida. After being the private school’s headmaster for years, they declined to renew his contract. Snay sued and won $10,000 in back wages and an additional amount of $80,000 for the settlement.
The only catch? A confidentiality agreement that his daughter, Dana, foiled. That is, she dished to her 1,200 Facebook friends, says AOL Jobs.
She wrote, “Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT.”
Well, as you can imagine, word got back to the school and just like that, the deal was breached. Game over.
