Our sister blog FishbowlNY wrote about today’s cuts at Conde Nast Digital, where reportedly more than 20 people lost their jobs. All the company will say:

“The creation of Condé Nast Digital was about setting the company up for growth in the digital area. As the various digital units merged we have found some duplication. We are streamlining to form one unified staff.” The “various digital units” include CondeNet, Brides.com, and so forth.

But the anonymous tipster saying Wired.com’s staff was decimated? Apparently not true.

A source inside the company tells us, “I really have no idea where that rumor came from…the vast majority of the people affected today were in the backend of the business.”

Please tell us if you know more.
