Discovery Promotes Three

Discovery Communications has promoted Eileen O’Neill, Marjorie Kaplan and Henry Schleiff, reports MediaWeek.

O’Neill will become group president of both Discovery Channel and TLC under one business unit; she will then hire a new chief for TLC alone.

Kaplan, who was head of Animal Planet Media, is now president of the Animal Planet and Science Networks unit, heading up her old channels as well as Science Channel.

And Schleiff will take over Planet Green and FitTV in addition to his old responsibilities as president of ID: Investigation Discovery and Military Networks.
