CBS Interactive has hired Jennifer Vescio from Yahoo as VP of business development. She started this week and will oversee business development and acquisition strategy for CNET, CBS News and Moneywatch, reports PaidContent.org.
At Rodale, Prevention publisher Bob Ziltz is leaving as one of 20 cuts the magazine company announced yesterday. The other cuts were in marketing, sales and research. Mary Murcko was promoted to SVP and publisher of Prevention. Men’s Health publisher Jack Essig was promoted to SVP and publisher, and will now also publish Women’s Health.

Eric Johnson, who served as associate publisher of Women’s Health, was promoted to associate vice president and associate publisher of Prevention. Women’s Health advertising director, Christopher Cormier, was promoted to associate publisher at Prevention.
Making the jump from Prevention from Women’s Health is Diane Malloy who was promoted to associate vice president and associate publisher. Ronan Gardiner was given the same title at Men’s Health.
Afar Media has made two hires, PaidContent and MinOnline both report: John Sheehy is now president and publisher of the travel magazine, AFAR, that is expected to launch later this year. Claude Girard has been appointed executive director of travel. Sheehy comes from four years of running a consulting firm that advised Reader’s Digest Association, AARP, Dwell Media, and more. He is also a former COO of Weider Publishing and publishing director at Time Inc. Ventures. Girard was previously VP of integrated sales at Hachette Filpacchi; he has held that position since April of 2008.
