Despite everything you’ve been hearing about the decline of print media, AdweekMedia just released their “Hot List”—a list of the top magazines with standout advertising revenue and page performance—and the majority of the list boasted revenue streams over $100 million (some way over).
The Economist took the number one spot for the second year in a row. They were followed closely by fashion mag Elle and the entertainment glossy People. Bob Safian of Fast Company was named top Editor of the year and MaryAnn Bekkedahl, evp and group publisher of Rodale Inc., was honored as top executive
“Despite the challenged economic climate and reader shift to the Web, there are still bright spots in publishing—consumers still crave information and distraction in the format that only magazines can offer,” says Lucia Moses, senior editor at Mediaweek, told the Wall Street Journal.
