Two New Magazines Open!

You read that right! Long Island is getting two new parenting magazines, reports Wooden Horse Publishing. Starting in April the two magazines, Nassau Parent and Suffolk Parent, begin publication. These free monthlies will be produced by Davler Media Group, the publisher NYMetroParents magazine and website.

With a set circulation of 50,000 copies each, the two publications will be overseen by Marie Wolf, former editor at Wellness magazine. For more information about these publications, go to nymetroparents.com.

This could perhaps be one of the more advantageous moves in publishing right now. According to Pew Research, while mainstream media has floundered in the last couple of years, niche media, offering more specialized and detailed information, has been expanding. Maybe Davler has hit upon the future of journalism, more focused news versus more general.
