Newsroom employment has plunged to its lowest level in three decades: According to the American Society of Newspaper Editors, newspapers shed 5,900 jobs in 2008, more than double the number of losses reported in 2007. One of those laid-off journalists was East Valley Tribune's Paul Giblin, who won a Pulitzer Prize yesterday for his work in a series on illegal immigration...
