Editors spend just a minute or two reading your pitch letter. How do you stand out from the slush pile? In this two-night intensive course, Maureen Dempsey, an editor with a broad range of print and digital experience, will talk you through the steps to write and send an effective pitch. You'll write pitches, get feedback, and research publications and editors who are looking for new writers. 
 
In this class, you will learn how to:
  • Generate pitch ideas 
  • Research appropriate outlets for your articles
  • Write timely, attention-getting pitches
  • Follow up with editors to ensure that your queries get results
By the end of class, you will have:
Pitch ideas for multiple print and digital publications and a polished pitch that's ready to send to editors.
