Samantha Schoech and Lisa Taggart are on a campaign to change all that by helping writers of all stripes --journalists, essayists and incredibly serious memoirists -- infuse their work with effective humor. In this 8-week class, we'll devote ourselves to the pursuit of hilarity, whether you're going for an out-and-out humor piece or writing a lifestyle magazine or newspaper feature. But her greatest gift is her impeccable timing. She is the author of Women Who Win: Female Athletes on Being the Best and works as a staff travel writer at Sunset Magazine. Samantha, a senior travel editor at Sunset Magazine, has taught fiction and expository writing at UC Davis and USF. Her work has appeared in Seventeen, Glimmer Train, the Gettysburg Review and numerous books including The Risks of Sunbathing Topless and Flash Fiction Forward. |
